A Note from Our 2026 Chairwoman, Sarina Landers, Chief of Staff, Corvus Construction
As we step into 2026, I am both inspired by what we’ve accomplished together and energized by the work ahead. Our industry is the backbone of our communities. We are builders. We build opportunities, careers, and pathways for people to support their families and chase their dreams. That’s the heartbeat of America.
We face real and pressing challenges — workforce shortages, regulatory pressures, economic uncertainty, and rapid technological change. These challenges are significant, but I have absolute confidence that ABC is uniquely equipped to lead our industry through this moment.
In 2026, our focus will be on chapter growth and deepening member engagement. We will work to boost event attendance, encourage more companies to participate in committees and peer groups, and strengthen the connections that make ABC a true community. Regular check-ins and feedback will ensure every member feels heard and supported — because the strength of our chapter comes from the engagement of each of you.
Before looking ahead, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to John Golashesky for his outstanding leadership as our 2025 Chairman of the Board. Under his guidance, ABC Houston achieved remarkable growth, strengthened member engagement, and advanced initiatives that laid a strong foundation for our future. John, your dedication and vision have set a high standard, and we are grateful for your commitment to this chapter and our industry.
A key opportunity to come together will be our State of the Industry Breakfast, where Dr. Anirban Basu, ABC National’s Chief Economist, will deliver his economic forecast for the year ahead. This is a must-attend event for anyone who wants to understand the trends shaping our industry, make informed business decisions, and prepare for the future. During this time, we will also be actively recruiting for committees and peer groups — a chance for you to get involved, make an impact, and help shape ABC Houston in 2026.
I am humbled by the privilege to serve as your Chairwoman, and I am grateful for the passion you bring to your companies, your employees, and this industry.
