ABC Greater Houston announces the resignation of Austin Vaughn, Government Affairs and Safety Manager, who has served the chapter with distinction from 2021 through December 2025.

During his tenure, Austin made a lasting impact across government affairs, safety, and political advocacy. Under his leadership, member participation in the STEP Safety Program grew significantly—from 50 percent to 67 percent—demonstrating a stronger chapter-wide commitment to safety excellence. Political engagement also reached new heights, with PAC contributions increasing from $60,000 to more than $100,000, supported by 150 individual contributors and achieving 100 percent board participation.

Austin also played a key role in expanding ABC’s Associated Qualified Contractors (AQC) program, growing participation from 10 companies to 23. He helped transform the chapter’s Clay Shoot events into highly profitable and well-attended fundraisers, and increased member attendance at both state and national legislative conferences—strengthening ABC’s advocacy presence at every level.

Austin will be greatly missed by the staff, leadership, and members of ABC Greater Houston. We are grateful for his dedication and the strong foundation he leaves behind, and we wish him continued success as he begins his new role as Executive Director of Hunt with Heart.

As we thank Austin for his service, we are pleased to welcome Jordan Guidry (j.guidry@abchouston.org) as ABC Greater Houston’s new Government & Public Affairs Director. Jordan brings experience in government relations, public policy, and advocacy, with a strong background in building relationships with elected officials and stakeholders. His understanding of the legislative process and commitment to ABC’s mission will be a valuable asset as the chapter continues to advance free enterprise and the merit shop philosophy.
