Established in 1989, the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) serves as a valuable tool for ABC members to consistently build upon their safety training programs and gain recognition for their outstanding efforts. The program provides an organized approach for analyzing and developing safety and loss prevention programs, a valid, objective method for measuring safety program improvements, and a safety performance recognition useful in business development. The cooperative ABC/OSHA effort provides benefits to participating companies who voluntarily improve their safety and health performance and demonstrate the implementation of an effective safety and health program.
