SAFETY PROGRAMS

ABC Safety Policy Committee develops comprehensive safety programs and educates the construction industry with leading edge tips and techniques for implementing a safe workplace for all employees. Click here for more information on the ABC Safety Policy committee including events, safety tips, meeting minutes and more!

ABC Members are among the safest contractors in the industry.  ABC offers numerous safety programs to assist contractors in maintaining an excellent safety record, as well as certifications to demonstrate their dedication to safety on the jobsite.

Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP)

Established in 1989, the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) serves as a valuable tool for ABC members to consistently build upon their safety training programs and gain recognition for their outstanding efforts. The program provides an organized approach for analyzing and developing safety and loss prevention programs, a valid, objective method for measuring safety program improvements, and a safety performance recognition useful in business development. Apply for the STEP Program.

National Safety Awards

Through participation in the ABC National Safety Excellence Awards (NSEA) and the Construction Users Round Table (CURT),ABC is proud to recognize companies who continually strive to maintain outstanding safety training programs. Learn more about ABC's safety awards programs.

OSHA Partnerships
The cooperative ABC/OSHA effort provides benefits to participating companies who voluntarily improve their safety and health performance and demonstrate the implementation of an effective safety and health program. Benefits include special recognition from OSHA, i.e., priorities in compliance assistance activities and inspection incentives such as focused inspections and applicable penalty reduction factors.  To learn more about becoming an ABC/OSHA Partner, contact Amanda Burk.
