As the issue-advocacy arm of Associated Builders and Contractors, FEA tackles state business initiatives, educates the public about construction and advocates the importance of open competition and free enterprise.
Since its inception in 2001, FEA has:
- Produced a “Right-to-Work Employee Involvement Toolkit” to ensure the passage of the Oklahoma Right-to-Work initiative.
- Organized a get-out-the-vote campaign for the successful passage of the Texas 12 Proposition, offering valuable tort reform leading to lower state health care costs.
- Distributing more than one million voter guides comparing the 2004 presidential candidates' positions on issues important to the merit shop agenda.
- Developing the ABC Votes! website with information on voter registration and voting regulations.
- Preparing and distributing quarterly posters to all ABC members on ABC stances on the Employee Free Choice Act, taxes and other issues.
- Helping to secure the right to a private ballot through the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace (MyPrivateBallot.com).
Without FEA, the enemies of free enterprise will continue to attack-making it harder and harder for you to compete.
Your personal OR corporate contribution to FEA is an investment in the future of your business.
In 2010, The Free Enterprise Alliance launched the national "Halt the Assault" on business campaign.
Most Americans agree that there needs to be enough regulation to keep the playing field level and the economy moving with open and fair competition for all.
But many also are seeing that there’s too much regulation on employers — especially on small businesses and entrepreneurs who really create jobs in America — while there’s too little regulation controlling the activities and lack of transparency for union bosses.
We need to encourage the right rules to:
- create jobs and get our economy moving again
- lower the cost of health care
- improve public education
- protect the rights of employees
